A Wii Just for Mii

You won't believe what I did this past week.  I bought ANOTHER Wii.  Yes, another. Yes, we have two. Actually, the only gaming system our family has in our house is a Wii, and Santa brought it two years ago.  No Play Station, no X-Box.  I have a big issue with kids... well, that's for another day.  We got the Wii because the kids would be active while they are playing the games.

LAST Christmas I got the Wii Fit.  Oh, I was so excited!  The board was so neat, and I could do all these fun exercises and activities.  So my Mii was a little fluffy...  That was OK, because I was going to slim that little blond Mii down.  And I did... for a while, as we brought the Wii downstairs from the playroom and I got all set up in my lovely living room.  I went crazy... for a few days!  But guess what Sumter got for Christmas that same year???  Guitar Hero (with the drum set) for the Wii.  And because there was no way in h@*$ that all that stuff was going to stay downstairs, the Wii went back up to the playroom.  The nasty boy playroom.  Yuck.  Do you know how hard it is to get motivated to exercise in "the nasty boy playroom"?  Very.  I didn't last long.

So my Wii Fit got very dusty, and I got more fluffy.
(This isn't Mii, but you get the idea!)

And now I can't get my fat derriere in my cute Lilly skirts from last spring and summer (or even the two that I bought from Rue La La at $49 a pop).  Mon dieu!

So I now have a Wii of my very own... and not in the lovely living room so that the boys are tempted to whine that they want to play downstairs (remember they have theirs in "the nasty boy playroom"!), but in my beautiful boudoir.  Ah... I close the door... and karate, box, hula hoop, and lotus to my hearts content.  Because, heaven help us... we now have two Wiis.  And I'm going to get back into my Lillys if it kills Mii.

  1. I am SO with you sister! We have Nantucket to look forward to, so I need to make my mii not so fluffy (great word!) I have a Lilly skirt that is a tad snug. I did actually go to the gym today though. Hopefully tomorrow too. And the 30 day shred is on the way here as I type....sigh.

  4. We just got a Wii. I have similar feelings about video games and kids, but the Wii at least allows them to stand and move around while playing. Great idea to have your Wii in your sanctuary. Have fun.

  11. You go, girl! Yep, I'm with you on that. Summer vacay is my goal, along with any shorts, skirts, etc. that must be worn during warm weather. Plus, I just know I'll feel better and hopefully have more energy..

  12. You are such an inspiration because wii bought the wii fit and wii used it for a week, and wii haven't touched it since, so wii are very out of shape and wii need to get back to it even though will certainly didn't like our wii age one little bit! I love the boudoir idea!! Trust me; teenage girl's playrooms aren't much better either. Enjoy!

  14. Ahhh this post made me smile. I'm ALWAYS fighting my weight - and off and on "the wagon" (that's not Wii talk about Shoppa talk). :-)
Maybe we all need to keep each other motivated - gorgeous clothes are calling our names. XOXO

  17. I think that this was a brilliant thing to do! I recently moved our Wii into the livingroom from the small library room because of a space issue and now use it more often even though I don't necessarily like it in the livingroom but hey, whatever works right?

And yes, inspiration from wherever it comes...your Lilly P. skirt and my fitted Ann Taylor sheath dress hanging up on my closet door as a daily-reminder. Visual-reminders are always great things aren't they?

So enjoying reading your post and thanks you for following mine as well- much appreciated!

    Best, Lachlan

  18. I have a couple of lilly minis that are a bit too small... not sure if I will ever wear them again -- i am totally OK with that and will pass them on to Becca. That skirt I do have... bring it to Nantucket and I will too!!!
