However... Mike and I have had quite the stay-cation. Other than most of the day on his birthday (see last post), we have had a wonderful week. In fact, I do believe that because of said tiff, we really talked WITH EACH OTHER more than we have in a long time. This week, we are completely focusing on just the two of us. We aren't shuttling back and forth to baseball and play practice. We are having conversations - with no interruptions. We sat outside one beautiful night, just looking out at our yard that is beginning to bloom. We have been on two dates... and are going on date three tonight!
I think we needed this week...
It sounds like you all are having a wonderful time. This time alone is just what you needed!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time together ~ so important for a healthy and balanced marriage.

It is definitely easier to connect without constant interruptions from the cherubs! Enjoy your quiet time together.
ReplyDeleteGood for you!
ReplyDeleteThat is so great! So often couples get caught up in the everyday tasks, activities, etc., that a marriage can find itself on the backburner. And sometimes, gets cold. It's always great to regroup, connect and spend quality time together. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time this week! Your house will be bustling and noisy again VERY soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope your boys are having a good time with their dad as well. I bet they miss you!
Oh, I am so jealous! How I miss conversations without interruptions.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy every minute! I hope date #3 is fab!
Enjoy every second!
ReplyDeleteHave a great date!!
Blessings,
Robin
So glad you've had this week together! It's like the quality is doubled without the interruptions and all the running around. With three kids and their activities, my relationship with my husband gets so out of sorts and disconnected. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! I am so thrilled for you and a little jealous too. :) You're right...you both need this and need to make it a habit. It's so hard to make a regular routine "date night" or even just "date time." Have a great time tonight. Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteWhen do the boys get home? I know they are missig you too!
Oh how fun, I am so happy for you! That is fantastic that you're able to have a whole week, just the two of you. Although I know you miss the boys, I am loving all of your happy date nights! Where are you and your prince off to tonight?? XOXOXOX ENJOY!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
ReplyDeleteAlways Bumby
I am so happy for you two! Enjoy your time together--you will be better parents when the boys return!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to enjoy a staycation! Our spring break has been spent on the road for the most part- was at home today, but off again tomorrow. The week will be over before I know it.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome...my hubby and I could use a week like that:) ENJOY!!!
ReplyDeletePerfect! Good for you! I'm sure you can't wait to hug those boys too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing! They are getting to live out their fantasy and you are having yours come to life!!! xo
ReplyDeleteThat is so great that you two are reconnecting. I sometimes (shh...don't tell) miss the days before babies when husband and I had eachother all to ourselves. But children brighten a room like no other, so you'll be happy when they get home too!

Sounds perfect! I have something for you over at "my place!"
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this time with your sweet hubby! I know it is hard to be away from your boys but what a blessing this time together is!
ReplyDeleteMy family and I really enjoyed visiting the store and meeting you today. It is fun to meet someone you feel like you already know. Would have loved to meet the boys. Ev and MW were so impressed to meet someone we see on the computer. The store has lots of cute merchandise. I was so glad to find a store carrying such cute invitations. Several of my old favorites have closed. As soon as we sat down for dinner I called another friend and told her I found somewhere to purchase invites. My friends and I definitely need to plan a girl's day out in Aiken- they would love the store.
ReplyDeleteI loved every minute of bringing up our kids but now, almost two years into being empty nesters, my husband and I often marvel at how we're beginning to "find ourselves" again. We're starting to get involved again in things we put in the back burner while we were driving to practices, games, school events, and so forth with the children. I know you did miss the boys but good for you for taking some "us time."
ReplyDeleteHope you both had fun and enjoyed the together time! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a fun date week. What a wonderful opportunity to reconnect. Now that the boys are back it must seem like ages ago!
